ABOUT ME - KATIE BOYD MSc, UKCP, B.A (Hons)
Lets start with introductions..

My name is Katie Boyd and I am an accredited psychotherapist (or counsellor) with the U.K.C.P, working in Nottingham. I trained here in the city at the Sherwood Institute.

Starting off my working life with horses, a back injury quickly caused me to change paths where I followed my passion for design. Upon completing my degree, at Manchester Metropolitan University, I utilised the skills I had learnt to take me towards teaching, where I worked within education for 10 years. As my work with young people progressed, so to did my interest around mental health, which led to a natural progression into psychotherapy.

As part of my extensive training, I have also been a client, which I believe gives me an insight into the process of therapy or counselling. I have faced my own issues as a client, so I am able to be as present as I can be when sitting with another. For me, this was the most rewarding experience of my training.
In addition to my private practice, I also work alongside the
Nottingham Counselling Service.
